In 2012 the SLARA recognized a need and desire in the community for a Recreation Center. Community surveys were done at numerous community events, online and throughout area businesses. The results were collected, and from that the SLARA created the Community Center Oversight Committee.
The purpose of the Oversight Committee for the South Lyon Area Recreation Authority is to provide advice, guidance, and recommendations to the Authority on the location, financing, design, construction, and operation of a new recreational/community center. This committee is comprised of 3 representatives from each of the SLARA's participating municipalities (City of South Lyon, Lyon Township and Green Oak Township). The 3 members are comprised of 1 elected official and 2 at large individuals. Each member serves a 2 year term.
This committee meets the third Monday of each month at 7 pm at the City of South Lyon offices and meetings are open to the public. Below you can find copies of meeting minutes for your review. For more information about this committee, please contact aallen@slrec.com.
